Filming of the comedy “Ruyin Kim?” has begun in Almaty. The production is handled by the Tiger Films production company.

“Ruyin Kim?” is a witty comedy about what happens when you find out you’re not who you thought you were all this time. Lineage, origin, traditions—seemingly unshakable truths, but what if one small mistake changes everything? The film, filled with humor, intrigue, and self-discovery, will uncover the secrets of the Kazakh national code!

The lead roles are played by popular Kazakh actors Kaiyrat Adilgerey, Aynur Ilyasova, Laura Myrzakhmetova, Zhanbolat Nazaybekov, Nurdaulat Shertim, Merei Makazhan, Aibek Azimbek, and others.

The film is directed by Aset Jumakan (“Qara Zhasik”), and the screenplay is written by Nurzhan Erkınuly (“Baidyn Qyzyn Alamyn”). The filming will take place in Almaty and will last for 10 days, with the finished result set to be released at the end of this year — the premiere is scheduled for December 2025.

“We are implementing the ‘Ruyin Kim?’ project with new technical equipment, which was acquired to ensure uninterrupted filming at our studio and to avoid reliance on external companies. We are using the latest Arri camera models, lenses, lighting equipment, the Panthera dolly, and other necessary equipment. So, expect even more films from Tiger Films soon,” said Erlan Bukharbayev, the general producer of Tiger Films.

It’s worth noting that Tiger Films was established in 2021 with the goal of creating feature films.
